Boys Division 1
 
This should turn out to be the race of the day with so many strong individuals and teams. One thing is a guarantee, with Gabe Montague (NN) in the race it will be a fast race from the gun. Other runners that will be in the hunt for the individual crown include Johnny Abraham (Lowell), Drew Fossa (Peabody), Mike Schlichting (NN), and Sam Stubbs (CR&L). Right now it's tough to imagine anyone beating Montague after the last couple of weeks, but if anyone can accomplish this it's the battle tested Abraham. I'm still going to give the nod to Montague in what I believe will be the fastest race of the day. Other individuals in the top pack include Elliot Kelly (Attleboro), Allen Shiu (NS), Michael Scarlett (CR&L), Randy Nong (Lowell), and many more.
 
The team battle is going to be one to watch, with potential of being the deepest race ever. There will most likely be 5 spots up for grabs, with possibly 10 teams in the hunt. The teams battling it out with be Newton North, Cambridge Rindge & Latin, Peabody, Lowell, Lexington, Brookline, Methuen, St. Johns Prep, Newton South, and Weymouth.  There will definitely be some very good deserving teams staying home next week and missing out. As long as all 5 of CR&L's top runners compete to their ability, I think they barely hold on for the team title. If just one of them has an off day look for Newton North, Lowell, and Peabody to capitalize. The final team to move on in my eyes is a very consistent Lexington squad that should be ready for the challenge.
 
 
Girls  Division 1
 
Like the Boys race, this field is as deep as any in recent history. The virtual meet has Peabody edging Weymouth by a few points, but this barn burner can go in any direction. The defending Champions of Lowell wlll certainly need to step it up a notch if they want to defend their title or even see Gardner next week.  I am not sure if they have the strength from Top to bottom to recapture the MIAA trophy, but the MVC Champions will certainly be put to the test. Although it looks as if the Wildcard may come from this Division, like the boys race, many great teams will pack their bags and return home. Coach Miller's Weymouth squad earned that wildcard in 2012, but his team is primed for a much higher finish this year. I think Weymouth will land on top with Peabody, Lexington, and Newton South chasing the second place trophy. Teams like Lowell, Newton North, and Brookline will battle for the Wildcard.
 
Six of the top ten runners from 2012 departed, including Catarina Rocha, leaving this race wide open.  Emily Bryson of North Quincy has emerged as a pre-race favorite. The Patriot League Champion was third in the twilight meet behind Clary and McNulty, as she will attempt to hold off some serious talent in the last mile. Look for Rebecca Grusby (Newton South), Leila Aruri (Andover), Alexandra Richards (Lowell), and a ton of Weymouth and Peabody runners landing in the top 10.
